Even for a business which considers alcoholism and self-abuse to be positive job assets, the decline and near-fall of Richey Manic during '94 was heart-breaking to watch. Thankfully, the self-destruction stopped short of Kurtdom and, after a spell of detox, the guitarist was able to rejoin the Manics for their autumn dates.
